Author Bio
Elizabeth Devecchi spent most of her formative years in the tiny state of Rhode Island, striking out after high school to gather degrees while exploring the world. This has resulted in an undergraduate degree in French from Wittenberg University, polished during a year abroad in Montpelier, France; an Italian Law Degree from the Università di Torino, Italy; an L.LM in International Law bestowed by The University of Iowa; and formal Mediation training.
When she started her hobby blog, The Moon, The Sun, and Little Man (since incorporated into her author website), Elizabeth knew she wanted to get back to one of her earliest passions: writing. She officially began her career as an author in her in her early 50s with a short story titled “The Hunt,” which can still be found floating around the internet as part of the December 2021 issue of international literary journal, Ariel Chart. Elizabeth writes in a variety of genres and styles.
Elizabeth's debut horror novel, A Whisper in the Dark, was signed by Wicked House Publishing and released October 4th of 2024.
Other recent releases include: her debut poem, “Oh, Brother,” which appears in Volume II of Black Spot Books’s annual women in horror poetry showcase titled Under Her Eye (November 2023) in collaboration with The Pixel Project in an effort to end violence against women; a recipe accompanied by a flash fiction story in Nightmare Fueled Inc’s anthology Cooks of Horror (August 2024); and horror poem “In the Belly of the Mills,” which appears in the anthology Monsters in the Mills, launched at the prestigious horror conference NecromoniCon in Providence, RI (August 2024).
Upcoming releases include short tech-gone-wrong horror story “A Corporate Family,” to appear in Rabid Otter’s upcoming anthology Error Code, edited by Zaq Cass; short horror story “Open House,” to appear in a Running Wild Press anthology in 2025; and debut thriller/suspense novel, A Twist of the Lens, to be published by Wicked House Publishing in mid-2025.
Elizabeth is a member of the Horror Writer’s Association, Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers, Castle Rock Writers and Italian American Writers Association. She currently resides in Colorado with her family, which includes an ever-changing menagerie of pets and “guest creatures.”
